LIME PICTURES LAUNCHES ANNUAL INTERN SCHEME PROVIDING PAID ENTRY LEVEL OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS PRODUCTION

Following its successful pilot scheme last year, Lime Pictures is delighted to announce the formal launch of an annual in-house intern initiative, Lime Interns.

The next scheme runs from 2019 and will provide nine individuals with nine months paid work experience in a specific department within its Liverpool production base.  The Lime Interns will gain a broad understanding of production whilst acquiring valuable, in depth experience in their chosen area of production including;

  • Scenic Design
  • Visual Effects
  • Costume
  • Make Up
  • Scheduling
  • Music
  • Camera
  • Sound
  • Story Editorial

Lime Pictures is very proud of its reputation for identifying and developing new talent, both on and off screen. Recognising that opportunities to take a meaningful first step on a career ladder within TV production are incredibly scarce, Lime is committed to opening up the possibility of a career in television to the widest possible range of applicants.

The application process for the 2019 intake is now open.   The selection process does not focus on education or formal qualifications but asks for candidates to showcase their passion and flair for their chosen specialist area by submitting examples of their original work. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to a practical assessment day at Lime’s Liverpool production base in Childwall on 29 July 2019.  During the day there will be the opportunity for candidates to showcase their skills, as well as experience the production environment, be mentored by industry experts and learn about the equipment, techniques and different roles that are required  to make award winning TV.

Joint Managing Directors Claire Poyser and Kate Little comment: “We are immensely proud of Lime Pictures history of discovering and nurturing exceptional individuals, both on and off screen and we are committed to making the industry accessible to all.  Our intern programme delivers meaningful on the job training that enables the successful candidates to acquire knowledge and experience in their chosen specialist area as well as allowing them to develop a broader understanding of the wide range of roles and responsibilities within TV.  The interns will be paid throughout their nine months and at the end of their time with Lime we fully expect them to be able to successfully apply for entry level positions across the sector.”
