Our History

We are the first Film Office in Europe and have been helping filmmakers film their stories on location for the last 30 years, with unmatched expertise. Liverpool is the second most filmed city in the UK outside of London, due to the can-do approach and film-friendly reputation of a wide range of stakeholders.

The Future

In 2019, we launched the Liverpool City Region Production Fund, a £2 million regional production fund, an equity investment of up to £500,000, that can be combined with other public and private monies as well as with the UK Tax Credits.

Local initiatives to further develop the film, TV and related industries across the Liverpool City Region include the development of a £35m ‘digital campus’ – Littlewoods Film Studios. The site will include the north of England’s largest sound stages and a package of producer incentives are now underway that will provide the capacity to accommodate high value projects and open opportunities for business, skills and talent in the region.
