First look at Liverpool based Prime Video series Dead Hot

A first look image for new Liverpool comedy-thriller series Dead Hot has been unveiled by Amazon Prime Video.

The six-part series, created and written by Charlotte Coben (The Stranger and Stay Close), stars Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary, Screw) as Elliot and Vivian Oparah (Rye Lane, I May Destroy You) as Jess and will be available to stream on Prime Video in 2024.

Also joining the cast is Liverpool’s own Peter Seranfinowicz (The School for Good and Evil, The Tick) and Penelope Wilton (Downton Abbey, After Life).

Set in present-day Liverpool, Elliot and Jess are best friends united by a bond of losing Peter – Elliot’s first and only love and Jess’ twin brother. It’s been five years since Peter went missing in mysterious circumstances and still reeling from the trauma, the best friends spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle.

When Elliot meets Will, he starts to think he can put the past behind him but when Elliot learns Will has his own dark secrets, just as Jess is contacted by someone claiming to be her brother, it sets into motion a determination for the pair to find out if Elliot is romantically cursed or being targeted.
