3 prime time TV shows coming very soon! | MADE IN LIVERPOOL

This January and February will bring three prime time TV shows to your screen that were filmed within the Liverpool City Region. The three fantastic programmes will be shown across ITV1 and ITVX so make sure you are tuning in – starting from Monday!

We are extremely proud to have successful TV shows being filmed here in the Liverpool City Region and we cannot wait for everyone to watch them and maybe even recognise some familiar places on your screens.

 

New six-part medical drama, Maternal, starts Monday 16th January at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Most of Maternal was filmed in the Liverpool City Region.

Maternal tells the stories of Maryam (Parminder Nagra), a Paediatric Registrar, Catherine (Lara Pulver), a General and Trauma Surgeon, and Helen (Lisa McGrillis), a Registrar in Acute Medicine, as they each attempt to balance their increasingly demanding jobs in post-pandemic frontline medicine with their lives as new mothers.

It is a love letter to women on the NHS frontline who are holding it together.Written by Jacqui Honess-Martin, directed by James Griffiths, Rebecca Gatward, Amanda Blue, produced by Betsan Morris Evans and executive produced by Patrick Spence for ITV Studios.

Brand New Comedy, The Family Pile, starts Tuesday 17th January on ITV and ITVX . The Family Pile was filmed entirely in the Liverpool City Region and supported by LCR Production Fund. It is a comedic sitcom exploring the grief of sisters who have lost their parents and are packing up the family home to sell.

Amanda Abbington (Sherlock, Mr Selfridge), Clare Calbraith (Home Fires, Downton Abbey), Claire Keelan (Nathan Barley, No Heroics), and Alexandra Mardell (Coronation Street) star as the sisters alongside Kieran O’Brien, Richard Pepple and Liverpool’s James Nelson-Joyce (Time, Little Boy Blue).  Making his onscreen debut as Amanda’s onscreen son is Liverpool’s 14 year old Sonny Lackey.

The brand new 6 part comedy from Hat Trick Productions was written by Brian Dooley with Phil Warburton-Leach as producer, Fergal Costello as director and Angela Sinden and Liverpool’s Jimmy Mulville as Executive Producers.

New three-part drama, Nolly, starts Thursday 2nd February on ITVX.

Nolly, a new Russel T Davies’ drama from Quay Street Productions starring Helena Bonham Carter as Noele Gordon is a 3 part series charting the unceremonious sacking of the Crossroads star.  The production, also starring Auguste Prew, Mark Gattiss and Con O’Neil, filmed in the Liverpool City Region.

Directed by Peter Hoar, produced by Karen Lewis and with Executive Producers Nicola Schindler and Russel T Davies.
