Netflix announces cast and start of production of The Irregulars

Production is underway in Liverpool on The Irregulars. Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled delinquent teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner. As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it’ll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save London, each other, and potentially the entire world.

Mammoth Screen (World On Fire, Poldark, The City and The City) approached Liverpool Film Office in 2017 to recreate an Edwardian-London that gets hit by an alien invasion, and Liverpool City Region was able to provide a broad-scale of locations and facilities that hosted a nine-week shoot in early 2018.

    It’s a wrap for busiest filming year EVER in Liverpool

    IT’S been a bumper year for filming in Liverpool – as figures reveal it is officially the busiest year in the Film Office’s 30 year history.

    Since January, 366 different film and TV projects have chosen to film in Liverpool and the wider city region – the largest recorded in a single year since records began.

    It equates to 1,387 film days, which works out as an average of 4 projects filming in the area every single day of the year.
